Meet Sabra

Officiating ceremonies is what I was meant to do.

I used to lay in bed at night and think about what type of job I could find that would give me joy, something that was fun and positive and I could do forever.

I considered becoming ordained, and let it go - Until two of my closest friends decided to get married in 2017.

I took the leap and became an Ordained Minister thru the Universal Life Church. We had an amazing surprise backyard wedding, and after some prodding from the universe, I realized that I had found my calling. I was hooked and there was no looking back.

In 2019 I left my day job and became a full time Michigan wedding officiant.

Officiating weddings is amazing, but I wanted to learn more, to be better at what I did and make more of an impact on the lives of my couples while creating an experience they’d remember.

I took a class with Mark Allan Groleau, the Unboring Officiant and loved his technique of creating a love story instead of a ceremony body filled with thoughts from the minister….

Right around that same time, I attended a funeral- And I thought, “I could do better than this.” I could tell this man’s story and deliver a meaningful end of life ceremony that would remind everyone of who this man really was.

I became fascinated with the idea of working with people during all of life’s special moments, helping them with not just weddings, but baby welcoming’s, transgender naming’s, house blessings and funerals or end of life. I wanted to become a Family Celebrant.

So, I enrolled in the Six-Month masterclass program at the Celebrant Academy. I was trained in writing and ritual and public speaking. During the Business Class I doubled up and took End of Life with Beth Stokes.

In January I decided I need something more to help me with my Celebration of Life services, and completed training with InSight Certified Celebrants.

My clients have said that I am attentive, joyful, fun, and the perfect fit for their ceremony. I am passionate about creating a unique, beautiful, non-traditional service for whatever one of life’s ceremonies you need.

I am a secular celebrant, based in Southeast Michigan. I am also an equality enthusiast, and happily work with and marry LGBTQIA+ couples looking for an LGBTQ Wedding Officiant or Funeral Celebrant.

I work with clients in Bloomfield, Clarkston, Goodrich, Rochester Hills, Brighton, Holly, Lapeer, Frankenmuth, Grand Blanc, Romeo and surrounding areas. Basically, I love to travel throughout Michigan making memories with my clients that will last both our lifetimes!
